Milky Dreams. A Model Call.

I am a huge supporter of breastfeeding. For me, it was one of the best parts of mothering my littles. I knew as soon as I found out I was pregnant that I would breastfed my children. It’s not just about milk; it’s about that little face looking up at you with big, trusting eyes and the bond you create during those sweet moments together. 

But I also realize there are Mama's who can't breastfeed.  Maybe their baby was adopted, maybe Mama's milk never came in or breastfeeding simply wasn't a fit for their family.  I can only imagine with the recent public outpouring of support for breastfeeding, that formula feeding mothers may be feeling left out, shamed  or have anxiety over not breastfeeding. 

While I wholeheartedly support the breastfeeding movement, I don’t want to alienate formula feeding mothers either.  

And with that, I have decided to do a photo project celebrating the beauty and bond of simply feeding our babies.  It's a no shame, no judgement kind of project.  Let's face it, all our babies are healthy and loved regardless of how they're fed.

Together we can help more mothers overcome the shame, judgement and challenges that come with both ways of feeding.

CLASS OF 2017 SENIOR REP SEARCH

It’s that time of year again, when I begin my search for a handful of fun, stylish, friendly, and full-of-life High School teens to represent Gypsy Tree Photography!

I’m not looking for just anyone to apply, I’m looking specifically for High School Juniors that connect with and love my style of photography. I encourage you to spend some time looking around my WEBSITE and FACEBOOK PAGE to make sure I am the right fit for you. If you want your senior photo experience to be one-of-a-kind, then we may just be the perfect fit!

The Details:

* If selected, you will receive a HUGE discount on your senior session/sessions and incentives and discounts on prints or digital files.
* Senior Reps and a parent or guardian must sign a senior rep contract with full model release for advertising purposes.
* A discounted session fee of $100 is required and due upon signing the Senior Rep Agreement. This will then come off of any order that you place for packages.
*FREE Mini session this Spring (2016), with a minimum of 10 photos for promotional use on Social Media. This shoot will be a group session with the other Senior Reps and also we will do individual shots.
* You will receive 10 watermarked, web-sized images to use via social media.
* You will receive 25 Senior Model cards featuring YOU to pass out. Let’s hope you need more!
* Discounted Full senior session, including an online gallery with at least 35 proofs ($100 value).
* The rep with the most referrals for the season by November 1, 2016 will receive ALL of their images for free in the form of digital files, with a print release.

A Birth Session GIVEAWAY

Free birth photography, is there such a thing? Well for one lucky person there is. I have decided to branch out from my regular newborn photography sessions and start offering birthing sessions and I am giving away a session to one lucky person!

So what is birth photography? When I talk to most people their response is ewe, gross, why would you want photos of that? Well my response is, why wouldn't you? Then I explain what exactly birth photography is. If you have had a baby you know that those memories of the day they are born fade, and you are left with a few mental images of that first time you hold that little miracle in your arms. Birthing sessions are not about capturing the “mess” of birth, they are about capturing those special intimate moments, those memories that fade over time. It is about capturing each little detail, that first breath, the first time you see and hold that little person that has been growing inside you, that first moment when a couple becomes parents, when a boy becomes a big brother, when a girl becomes a big sister, when a Mother becomes a Grandmother. Who wouldn't want moments like this to cherish forever? I can tell you after having two children that I fully regret not capturing the day I brought my children into this world.

So now that I have hopefully changed the way you think about birth photography, I want to tell you about what I am looking for. I am looking for someone in the Central Pennsylvania area {Clearfield, DuBois, Altoona, State College} that is due within the next few months and who is preferably birthing somewhere that will allow me to be there during the birth and capture all of these beautiful memories. The session will be completely free and you will receive the images from the day with printing rights {a $400 value}. All I ask in return is that I can use a select few images in my portfolio. Class of 2016 Senior Rep Search

What is a senior rep?

A senior rep is a spokes model for Gypsy Tree Photography. Their job is to pass out rep cards to their family and friends and tell everyone how much they loved their portrait session with Gypsy Tree. My hopes are that their friends will want to have the same amazing experience and book with Gypsy Tree. Pretty simple.

What are the perks?

- a free, custom shoot during the Spring of 2015
- a set of free, personalized Senior Rep cards to hand out to friends
- a customized Facebook cover picture and five free watermarked images to share online or on your phone
- the opportunity to earn print credits with two or more referrals

What are your responsibilities?

- be fun, friendly and fashionable
- complete a senior rep application form by March 31, 2016
- complete a photo session before May 31, 2015
- a promise to promote Gypsy Tree and ONLY Gypsy Tree…positively and exclusively. You can’t be a rep for us and another studio, anywhere. Fair enough?
- pass out rep cards to your junior and senior friends and acquaintances and encourage them to get their senior portraits taken by Gypsy Tree Photography
- a signed model release is required so I can use your awesome images for marketing and advertising.
- use Facebook on a regular basis and be willing to promote Gypsy Tree Photography on your Facebook page.
- a $100 deposit is required if you are chosen to be a senior rep. After you refer two friends to Gypsy Tree Photography and they book a session, the deposit will turn into credit toward prints or other products
- note: if any of the criteria above is not met, Gypsy Tree Photography reserves the right to decline benefits associated with the Rep Program

Super Exciting Announcement.......

For quite a while I have been flirting with the idea of adding boudoir photography to my business.  I have a heart for empowering women to feel beautiful. I think it's so important that, as women, we embrace the beautiful body God gave us. Boudoir always seemed like a natural fit.

When I made this decision, I was super excited. However, before I jumped into it, I needed to make sure that I could do so in a way that would protect the purity, privacy and intimacy of every woman I photograph. I want my work to be suitable for all audiences. And, as a follower of Christ, I wanted my work to honor Him. These things are super important to me. So I did some searching around and lots of prayer and planned a way in which I can honor God, my boudoir clients and Gypsy Tree fans alike. Thus came Alabaster Jar Boudoir!

We are bombarded daily with lies that we aren't good enough, thin enough or pretty enough. We have been told time and time again that to be beautiful we need to look like a super model. The media tries to make you feel lower than low every single moment of your life. The media wants you to constantly remember just how beautiful, smart and charming you could be if you would only buy this product or that product. They certainly don't let you know that 99% of the photographs in the magazines are air brushed.

She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.

Proverbs 31:25

You are beautiful.  You are strong.  You are enough. You can be confident. We can all be confident. We can walk through this world with heads and hearts held high as daughters of the King. Daughters who are messy and broken. With Him, we are transformed into beautiful simply because we are His. Understand your identity in Him and the beauty and freedom He bestows on us and the love He extends to us.

I want to spend our time together making sure every single woman knows she is enough.  I want her to feel on top of the world. And when they see their images, I want them to see more than their physical beauty. I want them to see themselves as joyful + loved and more beautiful inside than they ever realized.

One thing God has given me over the past few years is a heart for marriage.  And what better way to help enhance marriages than with boudoir photography?  Let me take a second to get real…sex is a huge part of marriage, right? Every man reading this just yelled out a hearty AMEN! lol  We need to be purposeful about cultivating passion in our marriages.  

Life gets busy, kids come along, mama's are tired and we get into a rut. And let's be honest here, we don't always feel sexy. Especially if we haven't showered {or brushed our hair} all day long. A boudoir session will add some spice to your marriage by allowing you to rediscover your sexiness+confidence. And let’s just say that your husband will be quite happy with the results as well. Win win! Men are visual creatures, that's the way God designed them. So let's make sure those images running through his mind are of YOU!

Or maybe you’re about to get married and the word ‘sexy’ isn’t even in your vocabulary. I know many sisters in Christ who are anxiously and nervously awaiting their wedding night wondering how in the world they are going to pull of the ‘sexy’ thing. A boudoir session can help you get comfortable with showing a little skin AND the images make for a great wedding day gift to your fiance!

After thinking about all the ways that boudoir can be used to build up both women and marriages, it was a no brainer. I could not wait to get started!

How is Alabaster Jar Boudoir going to be different than other boudoir photography?

There are many styles of boudoir, some sweet and sexy, others more erotic. My shoots will focus on your beauty. Yes, you will absolutely channel your inner-sexy, but think Victoria Secret rather than Playboy. I want to bring out the beauty, femininity, softness and sexiness of a woman in a classy, beautiful way. My clients will get photos that both they (and their husband) will enjoy. With that said, the only images that will be seen on the website or facebook page will be modest ones that just showcase your beauty. In other words, photos I would be absolutely comfortable letting my littles see.  I will be making a private group page on Facebook. Any of the "sexier" photos will be shown there (with the clients permission). The Facebook group will only consist of women, men won't be added.
