my first wedding of 2013 was a fantastic one at the beautiful gateway lodge in the heart of pa’s cooks forest. i had no idea just how gorgeous this lodge was.

we began the day meeting up with janea as she got gorgeous in her suite. once she got gorgeous in her gown, we headed across the grounds to the ceremony site. the air was filled with a certain excitement.

janea and zach were married in the grand hall of the gateway lodge with the most gorgeous evening light streaming through the windows. it was a photographers dream! they day was filled with little personal touches. they enjoyed wine and delicious food with their friends and family. while the guests danced the night away, they could sneak out on the balcony to see the gorgeous sunset. what a day it was!

the day has finally come...

I’ve decided to take a break from photographing weddings.

Although I love weddings, I love weekends and spending time with my family more. My two littles are getting older, and they only have a few years left at home before they leave the nest. I’m just feeling like I need to spend as MUCH time with my fam as I can in the next few years.  In the past year I've been reminded more than once how precious life is and I want to soak up every single second I can with my sweet little fam.

I do have quite a few weddings booked for 2012 and 2013.  Those weddings will be shot by me and will be followed through as normal, with the same passion and energy as I've shot all my weddings in the past.  The only difference is I won't be taking on any new wedding clients.  I know, right, aren't you glad you booked when you did  :)

I love weddings and I've loved shooting them.  I love seeing the anticipation on the grooms face right before his bride walks down the aisle.  I love watching and feeling the emotion during the father/daughter dance (and i cry every. single. time.)  I love eating cake.  And I love watching everyone get their dance on.  One of the most fun things about writing this post was sorting through all of the weddings I've photographed and picking my favorite images from each set!

This certainly doesn't mean I’m putting my camera down.  I'm super excited about devoting myself fully to family sessions, engagement sessions, senior sessions, super cute little sessions and itty bitty baby sessions.  Super excited about that!!! 

I'm not stepping down from the wedding photography business forever, I do plan on coming back once my littles are out of the house.  Which we shall not speak of right now, since it makes this mama teary eyed to even think about such nonsense.  

I'm feeling super guilty about it BUT i know i must put my family first.  And honestly, I kinda don't have the energy to photography weddings every weekend.  They are actually kinda super stressful and I put an extreme amount of pressure on myself during wedding season.

Since I've decided to not take on more clients, and to appease my guilt a bit, watch in the future for a post about helping you pick a wedding photographer.  What questions to ask.  What to look for.  And what to deffo watch out for.

saturday’s wedding was another amazing wedding that i had the pleasure of being apart of...a beach theme, expecting bridesmaids, a sandbox at the reception for the littles and a super cute beach wedding cake...take a little peek into the day i spent capturing the love between cathy + craig... 

this is one of my fav images...although there are so many it's hard for me to pick just one!

how cute is it that BOTH bridesmaids are expecting and due within a week of each other...

all of the amazing beach details...LOVE that!  and i thought it was an amazingly great idea to have a sandbox, coloring books and beach balls at the reception for the littles to play with...

tricia & launce | wedding photography

tricia + launce had a beautiful day for their beautiful wedding...the venue was just gorgeous, they got married at a road less traveled bed and breakfast...

 i was beyond excited when i saw all the girls walk down the aisle barefoot...the bride even decided to ditch her shoes seconds before walking down the aisle  =)

 isn't this such a gorgeous, blended family...

 the bride and her siblings all have memorial tattoos for her brother...i thought the tattoos were just beautiful...

kate + aaron | wedding photography

i had the absolute pleasure of photographing the wedding of kate & aaron...kate was a gorgeous bride with the most stunning dress...and her family, as always, was a JOY to be around!  kate and aaron are soooo in love and it just radiates from them.

their autumn wedding had so many yummy details...autumn is my FAV season, i love every single thing about it...and their wedding perfectly captured it all...fall colors, pumpkins, leaves, warm glowing candles and candy corn...

they also had a "candy bar" of basically any type of candy you could think of...they had little bags there for you to make your own bag of candy...the kidlets LOVED this part! 

and this is the "cookie bar"...this is one of my fav parts...there were an insane amount of cookies, seriously, and i'm fairly sure i consumed my weight in cookies...and left with a slight bit of a bellyache BUT it was soooo worth it...kate's aunts are amazing cooks!

yesterday i got to spend the day photographing the absolutely lovely holly and tom..i could not have ask for sweeter clients, they are just perfect for each other...you could totally see they are amazingly in love...

bri & troy sneak peek

bri & troy were married on a super HOT {but seriously gorgeous} saturday at la ferme rouge.  it was a beautiful wedding complimented by the most amazingly gorgeous bride.  they had THE most creative and original wedding i've ever seen.  i was honored to be a part of it & i had an amazing time hanging out with them, their wedding party, family and friends!
